Every year Turfscape holds a golf outing fundraiser for the burn unit at Akron Children's Hospital. This charity is near and dear to our hearts. In October of 2002, our President George Hohman was making repairs to his water well at home. As he worked to fuse a pipe together, he was unaware of the slight gas leak. Once the torch was lit, the well exploded. As a result of this accident, George was taken to Akron Children's burn unit to be treated for second degree burns to his face and hands. Since the day of that accident, Turfscape has made charitable contributions to the Burn Unit.

The Turfscape Golf Classic combines two of our goals: First, to let our customers know how much we appreciate their business by treating them to a day of golf, asking in return that they consider making a donation to the Burn Unit, accomplishing our second goal of giving to a worthy cause.

George and the entire Turfscape team would like to thank everyone who participated in this year's outing. We enjoyed spending the day with our customers while raising money for a wonderful cause. With your help we're making considerable differences in the lives of area children!
