Keith Wetzel - Account Manager

What is your role at Turfscape? 

As an Account Manager I am the main point of contact for the customer base that I manage.  Within in that book of business I am in charge of day-to-day operations; making sure the work gets done on time, and the quality is up to par with the Turfscape standards.  This includes managing a team of talented and hardworking landscape professionals, this includes training and hiring.  Also, as an Account Manager I am responsible for providing customers with ideas, designs, and proposals to enhance their properties and make them safer. 

How long have you worked at Turfscape? 

I started working at Turfscape in 2018 as a Job Supervisor and was promoted to Account Manager.  I knew I wanted to work in the green industry because of my passion for the outdoors and horticulture.  I have an Associate’s degree from Horry Georgetown Tech, Pesticide License, am a Certified Landscape Technician, Certified Landscape Professional.  

What is your favorite project that you have worked on at Turfscape?

Back in 2019 I was doing fertilization in the field.  I can remember having a large inventory of fertilizer to get through, pallets and pallets of it.  Watching the pallets of fertilizer become less and less as the weeks went on until finally on the last round of fert for the season we dropped the last bag into the hopper.  

What is your favorite Have Fun at Work event that you attended and why? 

It was an employee appreciation party we had for everyone.  We grilled burgers and hot dogs, there was music playing, and we played cornhole.  Everyone was very sociable and had a great time.  It was great to get to know some of the Turfscape team that I didn't work with every day.  

What is one thing about you that might surprise people? 

This is very surprising to a lot of people, but I actually use to teach ballroom dancing.  Different dances like the Foxtrot, Waltz, and Salsa.  The Cha Cha is my favorite and I taught that a lot.  

What do you enjoy doing when not at Turfscape?

I am a family man, whenever I am not working, I am spending time with them.  I love watching my son grow up.  He is the best thing that has ever happened to me.
